Camera Review Sites

Updated October 2026

These are the sites we check before buying anything. We're not affiliated with any of them.

• DPReview has very detailed camera and lens reviews, plus sample galleries and active forums.
• PetaPixel covers photography news and reviews.
• Digital Camera World has reviews and buying guides for every level.
• CNET writes friendly, consumer-focused camera and phone reviews.
• DXOMARK publishes lab-tested scores, especially for phone cameras.

When you read a review, look at the sample photos taken in conditions like yours, whether that's indoors, at dusk or in action. Image quality isn't everything, either. A camera with menus you hate will stay in the drawer. Forums are good for spotting long-term reliability problems that reviews miss.
