Canon Cameras

Updated October 2026

Canon has made digital cameras since the mid-1990s and is one of the biggest camera makers around. People tend to like Canon's menus, its color, and the sheer number of lenses available, new and used.

The current system is EOS R, a mirrorless line that runs from beginner bodies to pro models. Canon's older EOS DSLRs are still everywhere on the used market, and their EF lenses work on EOS R cameras with Canon's adapter. PowerShot is the compact and superzoom line.

It's an easy brand to recommend to a beginner who wants a system to grow into.
